Oatmeal Cookies

Happy Wednesday, folks! Welcome to November. How is everyone recuperating from Halloween? The good news is, in case you didn't get your fill of sweets last night, The Pie Queen is here to change that!

It's recipe release day on the blog, and today we're making Oatmeal Cookies. The story behind this recipe is a special one to me; be sure to watch the video below to get the scoop!

Getting started: This recipe yields two dozen cookies.

----------------------------------------------

Again, for good measure: See what I did there?

----------------------------------------------

1 1/2 cups Crisco

1 cup sugar

2 cups brown sugar

2 eggs

1/2 cup water

-------------------

6 cups oats

2 cups flour

1/2 cup coconut

2 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

Returning this week in the recipe release is the newest video from my YouTube Channel. Below is a step-by-step guide (from my own kitchen!) on making Oatmeal Cookies. You can find written instructions right below that. Are you loving the video feature on the blog? I sure am!

To prepare: Steps 1-3 in mixer, Step 4 in dry bowl.

1. Mix Crisco, sugar, and brown sugar together.

2. Add water + combine.

3. Add eggs + combine.

4. In a dry bowl, mix oats, flour, coconut, baking soda, and salt.

* Queen's Tip: I use half rolled oats, half quick oats. Substitute with your preference! Same goes for your choice of coconut. My favorite is Snowflake!

5. While still mixing the wet ingredients, add the dry bowl ingredients a little bit at a time until finished.

6. Scoop onto baking sheet. Note that depending on size of scoop, you may not come out with two dozen cookies. You may also chill the mixture + bake later!

7. Bake for 7 minutes at 375 degrees.

This continues to be exciting for me every week, thank you so much for being here! Be sure to check in on Friday for new Pie Queen updates, as well as a new feature in the Spotted Series. What awesome person (or persons) will I brag on next!?

Here's to a smooth rest of your week, and hopefully a sweet treat to end your Wednesday. Enjoy them with someone you love! As always, nothing makes my heart happier than getting to remind you...

Don't forget to tag me in your finished products, please!
